Church Marketing

For some congregations, church marketing is looked down upon severely. However, church marketing can be a way of the church staying afloat in the down market that we are all experiencing. For the smaller churches that have a congregation of less than 50, church marketing could bring new parishioners and help increase the donations and funding for the church. It would be sad for your church to be shut down during the downturned economy because you simply did not want to get the word out about it.

There are many marketing tools that can be used for church marketing including direct mailers, telemarketing concepts and even some creative tools. One church went so far as to have 'coke' cans made that have their church's name on it. There are many online tools for churches that can be a big help when trying to promote your location. Direct mailers such as postcards, outreach services and conditions along with demographics reports and focus group guides for the planning committee are all tools available online. Some sites even offer information such as a community impact calculator a new church marketing plan to help your new church get on their feet as well as a list of common mistakes that are found during the Christmas and spring outreach programs that take place.

With so many tools to use at your fingertips, how do you choose the right ones? Look at your church's situation before deciding on any tools or church marketing information. If you are in need of more money for the church, using mailers and an outreach program prior to church holidays will help to bring in more people with this in mind. If your church is very small and new, the idea is to get the word out about your church and use as little money as possible to do so. Bulk mailers, telemarketing tools and open house operations are all ways of getting new people to stop by. Without church marketing, many churches would not be open. Use all the tools you have at your disposal to get the congregation involved, new parishioners in the pews and money in the accounts for improvements.
